Marcel Wanders

Born in the Netherlands in 1963, the iconoclastic designer Marcel Wanders has humor and originality of the foundations of his work. He became known in the 90s in the famous design collective Droog Design chair thanks to its metallic knit Knøtte (1996). The studio quickly became a benchmark in the world of design through production then described by some as insolent, but always finding more enthusiastic buyers. However, projects Wanders are a little too original for publishers market. To maintain its independence vis-à-vis manufacturers, Marcel founded in 2001 his own publishing house Moooi which means "beautiful" in Dutch. Style whimsical, quirky and slightly provocative Marcel Wanders is fully expressed in the Moooi collection and wonders in the land of the same design ... Marcel Wanders continues to work with leading international publishers. Wanders style is explosive and inimitable designer does not hesitate to think outside often "cleaned" and esthétisants design offering creations'' offset'' unclassifiable and poetic. Marcel Wanders creations are exhibited in the most prestigious museums including the MoMA in New York.
