TABLE TAP by Arnout Visser |
BOWLS PLUS by Michelle Huang |
This carafe has been inspired by inventions and scientific research, this object’s basic function has been put into a new context. Table tap also reminds us of a perfume atomiser, now it functions as a small water pump at the table. Pouring a simple glass of water is a really fascinating experience.
|
The shapes of these bowls originate from Chinese rituals. In the Chinese culture it is polite not to eat all the food that the host is offering, as if to say 'you given me plenty'. Michelle Huang noticed that the younger Chinese generation that live outside of China are beginning to loose touch with these kind of traditions. She has now re-invented them for everyone. |
