The shape of the individual glass was specially designed for the glass series Vinoteca Leonardo to suit the intended type of wine. A young, light wine - regardless of its colour or its grape - has different requirements in term of drinking vessel than an older wine containing tannin, which may require oxygen enrichment in order to reveal its bouquet. The wines were divided into three main categories reflecting the consumption habits: The young, light wines, the young but stronger medium types and finally the venerable rich wines. This well thought-out principle is applicable to all wines: Even white and red as well as sparkling wine and champagne.
