This cup is designed by William Alsop, an English architect who took part in the "Tea & Coffee Towers" operation presented by Alessi in 2003, together with 21 other international architects who for the first time worked with design for the industry. The cup is cylindrical in shape and remarkably slender. The handle is made by twisting a flat plate joined vertically to the cup through 90°, and it extends horizontally out to meet the fingers. The ovoid shape of the saucer traces a sort of raised prow that gives a visual orientation to the whole and at the same time offers a practical grasping point. The base of the cup is hollow and conceals a small glass for cream, or a shot of liqueur or spirits to add to the coffee. The cup and the saucer are made of bone china, a porcelain praised for its brilliance and transparency, with a casting production technique. Hazel is part of the "Il caffè/tè Alessi" series and is supplied in a pack of 2 pieces.
