Home > XO > L'Oreille Qui Voit - Model 4
Created for the Brazilian hotel Fasano in Sao Paolo, by Philippe Starck, the mirrors "L'Oreille Qui Voit" are now presented by xO in five sizes and three finishes. xO has always liked surrealism, its 1995 "Brouette" is a clear tribute to this artistic movement. The new collection of mirrors, more or less shaped as human ears (hence their name), is clearly reminiscent of Dali's melted watches. The stunning organic forms of these beautifully finished mirrors can therefore prompt the user-spectator into endless meditations on the duality hardness-softness or the obvious perspective distortions as exemplary of the phenomenon of human eyesight into art!
The five mirrors, from 50cm of height for the smallest to a lofty 190cm for the tallest, can be either presented as standalone pieces or in endless combinations. Imagination is the only limit to how they can be arranged together. Each mirror is available in black lacquer, sumptuous silver leaf or Zebrano wood-leaf (which has all the beauty of Zebrano solid wood without impacting on tropical forests). A scale 1-1 sketch of the mirrors, on tracing paper, with the clear position of the hooks provides a smart guide to installation.
