  "Alessi has an important heritage in the area of this formidable "coffee machine". Richard Sapper designed the "9090" and the "ARS09", Riccardo Dalisi the "Napoletana", Aldo Rossi "La conica"... Today we welcome "coffee.it", the espresso coffee maker that is part of a more extensive project dedicated to kitchen utensils. They include the "screw.it" corkscrew, the "pepper.it" pepper mill and the "salt.it" salt grinder. The creator of this sure success is Dutchman Wiel Arets. This Dutch architect and designer creates delicate sculptures for modern kitchens. Practical, functional and attractive objects. The collection reflects a direct, expressive design technique. Arets strives for a fine balance between the parts of an object, while also searching for a notable degree of intellectual complexity. Great sensitivity in the use of steel and a highly inventive spirit enable the designer to catalyze powerful distillations of energy."
