Surfaces collection proposes investing the surface of an ordinary archetypical object with a graphic intervention. In response to the over-creation of new shapes, Surfaces chooses to produce a pre-existing shape and create a collection of graphic surfaces that are to be considered as so many design acts. The first volume elected by Domestic is a cylindrical vase in painted white porcelain with a cover letting it be transformed into a vase for a single flower and into a container. Kuntzel + Deygas create characters and invent captions for them. Then, quite often, they also create films or images. At any rate, they do a lot of drawing. In short, they have fun bringing together worlds that normally give each other a wide berth.
