Surfaces collection proposes investing the surface of an ordinary archetypical object with a graphic intervention. In response to the over-creation of new shapes, Surfaces chooses to produce a pre-existing shape and create a collection of graphic surfaces that are to be considered as so many design acts. The first volume elected by Domestic is a cylindrical vase in painted white porcelain with a cover letting it be transformed into a vase for a single flower and into a container. Smiling caterpillars, flying space creatures and the occasional body organ that comes to life are just a few of the inhabitants of the private world of Pierre Marie. The modern day dandy works for fashion and in addition, he creates theatre posters and designs books.
