Tom Dixon's new lighting is work of substance that fits perfectly with the concept of Back to Basics - Utility. Tube, Bowl and Lens are the three styles in the Pressed Glass series, a collection inspired by heavyweight industrial components. The satisfyingly heavy lamps are surprisingly honest in form and bear imperfections along with sinuous marks that reflect their industrial nature. Supplied with tensile wire, 250cm cable and black metal ceiling rose.

Tom Dixon continues to wow the world. This autodidact designer, who also was the head of Habitat, certainly knows what to give his clients. While at Habitat he reissued archive designs by Verner Panton, Ettore Sottsass and Robin Day as well as commissioning new pieces from Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Marc Newson and Ineke Hans. For the London Games in 2012 Tom Dixon designed lighting, Void and let’s not forget other favourites like the Slab series or the ever-playful Jack lighting series, which comes in a tri-colour range of black, white and fluorescent orange.
