The timeless Anglepoise lamp, copied many times, is an icon of British design for more than 70 years. Its typical style of the 30s celebrates industrial spirit. The original model was designed in 1933 by the car engineer George Carwardine.
Established in 1990 by British designer Peter Bowles, Original BTC draw inspiration from Britain’s rich post industrialisation history as well as incorporating modern tastes and trends with very latest innovative designs. All lights are handmade and manufactured in the UK.

While at Habitat he reissued archive designs by Verner Panton, Ettore Sottsass and Robin Day as well as commissioning new pieces from Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Marc Newson and Ineke Hans.
