Officina’s family is growing bigger!
In order to create the Officina table collection, Bouroullec brothers employed one of the oldest metalwork techniques: wrought iron. Their aim was to give a contemporary touch to a bit obsolete look of wrought-iron furniture. A successfully completed challenge!

1976: Eugenio Perazza founds a furniture company in North East Italy. He names it “Magis”, making reference to the Latin word meaning “more”. Since then, Magis has been developing with these dynamic and innovative ideas in mind… Crazy energy to move forward and design that makes a difference!
1978 - 2011 : Alessandro Mendini, Proust
Successful experiments!
Proust was originally created in 1978. Inspired by the “Regency” style, it features a pointillist pattern which makes it a firmly experimental and protest piece. Magis pays tribute to this beautiful armchair in 2011 by the process of rotomoulded polyethylene. The pattern is coloured and fully integrated in the material, which is rare and truly exceptional! The perspective and colourful Proust from 2011 continues in the same spirit of its original version…

2012 - Starck and Eugeni Quitllet, Zartan
“Ethical bioplastics” is fantastic!
Philippe Starck and Eugeni Quitllet have developed recycled polypropylene mixed up with vegetable fibre – “ethical bioplastics” as Starck likes to call it – which is a nice and sustainable material. Zartan chair was created in 2012, namely in the beginning of the research on eco-materials which would limit the use of plastic materials. It embodies the future-oriented dynamics which has not stopped to innovate, and, without doubt, is not going to do so for a very long time!
