Especially concerned with the well-being of its students, the University of Copenhagen approached the Bouroullec brothers, Erwan and Ronan, who it asked to make all of the furniture for its literature department. "It’s a very interesting situation on a historical level", confided Ronan Bouroullec. "Since the last century, each time a school or university is built in Denmark, a designer is asked to create furniture for this space." The very successful Copenhagen collection is mainly made from wood, with harmonious, balanced forms which provide a feeling of lightness and harmony. With its compact dimensions, this desk is perfect for small spaces. Hay uses an innovative, environmentally friendly water-based paint. As resistant as traditional paints, this non-toxic paint gives off fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs), responsible for air pollution. As a result, you guarantee a healthier environment for those around you while improving working conditions during the production phase.
