Kartell invites the Lombard head Davide Oldani to design a collection of plates that is both young and refined, elegant and easily to live with. Made of melamine, the I.D.Ish plates by D'O playfully reinterpret the traditional thick edge white porcelain plates. The collection is available in 4 models that pay homage to the four Seasons: Flat plate SUMMER, classic hollow plate SPRING, tilted hollow plate AUTUMN and asymmetrical hollow plate WINTER.
Simple shapes at a first glance, reveal when looked at as closely to subtle singularities as possible. The "Autumn" plate is slightly tilted whereas the "Winter" plate is a flattened circle that is not perfectly round. Each of these four plates from the collection is decorated in an original pattern: a fingerprint in relief encrusted on the edge! A light but clear trace, alluding to the thumb that serves as support when in use.
