Eileen Gray (1878-1976) is one of the most striking characters of the history of the decorative arts and architecture from the 20th century. Her works, which have now become Art Deco and design classics, reach record prices in auctions. Jean is a re-issue of the table designed by Eileen Gray in 1929 and bearing the name of her friend, the Romanian architect, Jean Badovici. In 1924, Eileen Gray began to work on the E-1027 house in collaboration with Jean Badovici. Responsible for its furnishings, she created this table which was very innovative for the period, which she placed in each of the rooms of the villa. Luxury gives way to simplicity and a practical shape. This table is made up of a layered melamine top with solid beechwood edges. It also has adjustable chrome steel legs. Eileen Gray was one of the first to use the steel tubular structures with Marcel Breuer, Gerrit Rietveld and Charlotte Perriand. Created in 1929, Jean has surprisingly modern features: it is possible to fold it in order to turn your dining room table into a desk. It is an adjustable and light piece of furniture while remaining very stable.
