The Kaiser Idell lamp was created for the first time in 1931. Now it is recognised all over the world as an icon of Bauhaus design, illustrating the genius of the movement in the creation of versatile and minimalist designs which still seem modern. For the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus movement, Fritz Hansen is releasing the Kaiser Idell lamp in a luxurious version with a base in polished brass. This limited edition model is a collector's item of the future that will become a rare and cult item. This version offers a wonderful combination of reflective and shiny surfaces. Over time, brass will take on a unique natural patina. In this way, each piece will change gradually, reflecting its unique place in history. Experience the legend of design with this reissue of an icon of classic design: the famous Kaiser idell lamp. Designed by the German goldsmith, Christian Dell in the 1930s, this lamp is a part of the Bauhaus artistic movement. Dell, who worked as a foreman in the Bauhaus Institute's metal workshop, is considered one of the key figures in the Bauhaus movement for having laid its foundations. The asymmetric form of the KAISER idell lamp's diffuser is very characteristic. Made from a high quality steel, the shade is hand painted in remarkable original colours. With its unique quality, ingenious assembly and precision craftsmanship, the Kaiser Idell series is the ultimate in sculptural excellence and pure design. The design of the Kaiser Idell lamp is now recognised as a legendary classic. It is by taking centre stage in the officers of the famous inspectors of televised series such as the German one "Der Kommissar", earning it the alias of "inspector's lamp", that its style made its mark in the 1960s. The very practical Kaiser idell lamp has a curved arm, articulated on the base by a pivoted joint. Its shade has a ball, originally a Kaiser patented exclusive. The sophisticated shape of the diffuser, combined with the technique achieved via the system of balls is able to target the light on the worktop in an optimal manner. Available in different colours, each lamp, made up of chromed brass and hand-lacquered steel, comes with a certificate of authenticity and has a unique series number engraved on its base.
