The first Artemide lamp, in contrast with cold rationalist design takes up the bourgois typology of traditional lampshade, using materials and processes from the craftsmen of the past (brass, black marble, crystal, worked in such a way as to recall the ultra-fine abat-jours of the boudoirs). This is how Alfa should be seen, its design and proportions an irony of the reigning nostalgia for domestic values of the last century. Materials : Metal structure: opaque nickel-plate. Diffuser: crystal glass. Base: marble. The metal parts are hand turned.
