When Nordic craftsmanship meets the art of Japanese carpentry ... This handcrafted armchair with its Japanese design is the link between East and West. Its clear, legible construction is inspired by the traditional techniques of Japanese carpentry. Using a clever play of cut-outs, Japanese carpenters and woodworkers interweave the different pieces of wood without drilling or nailing them. In the Oaki armchair, the joints between the different parts are created so as to be fluid. The four legs that mix straight lines and curves structure the armchair. These four wooden poles rise up over the entire height of the chair, extending onto the backrest to surround it. The Oaki armchair is rich in detail and full of character. Tactile and warm, oak is combined with a luxurious leather seat. Pleasant to the touch, this leather has a homogeneous, slightly grainy surface. Its extremely strong protective layer makes it very easy to maintain. Stains are easily removed with a damp cloth. It will take a long time to show signs of ageing or discolouration due to exposure to light. This low armchair has a wide, curved, slanted backrest.
