Man has always fashioned objects with this natural material with its noble simplicity: from the peasant’s modest bowl to the decorated amphoras of rich houses during the Italian Renaissance. Obon coffee tables display a neo-rustic style that perfectly meets our needs for authenticity and going back to basics. The charisma of Obon tables is expressed through a mix of simplicity, modernity and authenticity. Natural, porous and irregular, terracotta has a warm, red-orange colour that takes your interior to another place. These hybrid tables offer an amazing mix: the ancestral material is reinterpreted in a modern way by pure, contemporary forms. The irregular, imperfect outlines reveal a primitive style that links past and present. The curved, soft lines break with our very strict, linear everyday environments. This creation emits a positive energy, blended with the sensuality of simple shapes. Obon tables are handcrafted, so each piece is unique. The terracotta is moulded, then the top is enamelled to make it waterproof. On the rest of the table, the terracotta is left in its raw state: the material's imperfections are therefore enhanced to form an integral part of the object's appeal. The slightly irregular lines, bumps and discreet colour variations are deliberately visible to communicate a hand-crafted feel and underline the object's raw attraction.
