Officina Bench - / L 120 cm - Beech & wrought iron - Magis

To create their Officina collection, the famous Bouroullec brothers used one of the oldest ironworking techniques: wrought iron. Their goal was to give a contemporary visual language to wrought iron furniture which is somewhat outdated. The raw appearance of wrought iron is deliberately preserved. The uneven, imperfect surface gives these items of furniture a special vibe, an artisanal flavour. By reflecting the random marks left by the tools used to make them, these pieces add a new twist to the industrial style. The Officina bench combines an inviting seat in beech plywood with a galvanised wrought iron structure with clear, clean lines.The Officina collection reflects the work of the Bouroullec brothers. For them, the role of designing is to reveal a knowledge of the material and the techniques applied: deeply buried emotions linked to the details of the object and its crafting, touching on the universal.
