The extremely fine openwork material reminds us of precious lace. Guido Venturini recalls: “When I was little, sitting next to her on the sofa, I learned the basics of crochet […] It was only later that I began to appreciate the decorations, embroideries and mouldings, primitive, popular, medieval or classic, which go so well with the rich scrolls of the core. When Alessi asked me to work on a metal fretwork, I started by drawing and experimenting with Indian ink, lots of different brushes and papers, from rice paper to cardboard. By following my hand, I saw different shapes and embroideries emerge. I followed this natural disposition, sliding the brush along. ‘’
