The iconic Rock table by Jean-Marie Massaud is getting an update with this outdoor version, made entirely from concrete. The top has an original mottled look which is reminiscent of Terrazzo. This mottled effect is obtained by combining concrete with fragments of Alpine stones (green version) or stones coming from Tuscany (Terracotta version). The base of the table is made from smooth solid concrete. The Rock table is characterised by its fluid and elegant silhouette which combines solid shapes with fine and delicate lines. The top seems to be floating above the solid concrete base. We love the raw and natural beauty of this industrial material. The extremely well-designed steel join between the base and the top provides a lightness and incredible fluidity to the piece. Rock is a mix of refinement and solidity, lightness and stability, radicalness and sensuality. This table is made from high-performance fibre-reinforced concrete . The colouring of the concrete is achieved via a clever combination of sand and natural elements. The concrete is then subject to slow drying. This manufacturing process causes different colour and surface shades to vary from one model to the next depending on the dose of dyes and the weather conditions during the drying: each item is unique. This irregular and raw finish gives the concrete all its industrial character.
