The table Santiago designed by the Austrian Frank Rettenbacher shows a slender and elegant outline, with the light shape of an aircraft wing. « The idea is bringing the same lightness of the metal tables into bigger sizes versions, thanks to a contemporary project with a linear and distinguishing silhouette. The table is made of solid oak with slender legs embraced by thin wires that illustrate the flow of forces: a design inspired by the work of architect Santiago Calatrava, where the best steadiness is ensured even maintaining the wooden legs as thin as possible. The expanded top surface conceals strengthening T-profiles that prevent warping and avoid using bulky cross-bars. Thanks to Zanotta engineering process we created one of the most lightweight tables solid oak tables available in the market ».
Rettenbacher also explains: « The soft edges and the underside emphasize lightness and improve comfort to naturally invite people to gather around. The rounded off corners make particularly sense when there are children running around the home, an aspect often forgotten in furniture design ».In detail:Variation : Natural oak
