The Danish designer Verner Panton would have turned 90 in 2016. Even though the majority of his designs have gained iconic status over the years, the Danish manufacturer of his designs, Verpan, and his widow, Marianne Panton, have managed to find a dining chair which has remained relatively unknown to most people. Have a seat in the fully upholstered dining chair from 1967: Series 430.
Series 430 is Panton's first chair with four legs, and only one among several pieces of furniture that will mark Verpan's celebration of one of Europe's most admired and versatile furniture and interior designers. Panton's goal was to design a dining chair that was just as comfortable as resting in an armchair. That is why Series 430 has a wide, enveloping back and a well-padded seat with elastic webbing, which allows it to better adjust to the weight of the body and provides a relaxing seating position. Verpan has not made any corrections in Panton's designs, but adapted them in accordance with today's standards and requirements for sturdiness.  And with a powder-coated stainless steel frame, Panton has created a chair so light that it is effortless to move around.
