The Octaevo brand was born from Marcel Baer's passion for Mediterranean culture. Born in Zurich, this globetrotting artist based in Barcelona draws inspiration from his childhood memories and his travels to develop colourful, graphic, refreshing collections. Made in partnership with artisan workshops, Octaevo creations bring a little Mediterranean sunshine to your daily life.

The designers of the Octaevo studio define themselves as explorers, collectors and dreamers. From their workshop in Barcelona, ​​they travel the Mediterranean in search of stories and transform them into beautifully designed and well thought out products.

Combining colourful minimalism, pop, organic, neo-antique aesthetics, the Barcelona brand OCTAEVO brings together past and present. Mixing references to the traditions of southern Europe or antiquity, a contemporary chromatic palette and fun shapes, Octaevo's creations aim to playfully honour the sunny heritage of the Mediterranean.

Marcel Baer, ​​founder of the Octaevo brand: “This project started with my family picture album. Images of my father Kurt in his late twenties, working on the high seas surrounded by wind and waves. Black-and-white memories of scuba diving and exploring the unknown. The sea was his passion and his stories were full of adventure. From my Spanish grandmother, Marieta, I inherited hundreds of hours of Super 8 footage from her family travels in the early 1960s. The age of the aeroplane was pretty much changing the world, and we see them travelling along the Mediterranean coast from Rome to Athens, from Beirut to Tel Aviv ... idyllic legends of times past. I was born in Zurich, and although I spent all my summers with my grandparents in the south of Spain, I never thought I would one day live in Barcelona. It was by coincidence, and it turned out to be a good thing, because I felt at home there. Driven by a passion inherited from the sea, history, travel and the Mediterranean, I wanted to create a new type of item that combines all these elements. Of course, they had to be beautifully designed, with the highest possible quality and in collaboration with carefully selected suppliers, craftsmen and creative people. This was the idea behind OCTAEVO. ‘’
