Vincent Sheppard’s story starts in Belgium. A small team of passionate entrepreneurs launched the company in 1992 to update and preserve the know-how of “Lloyd Loom” furniture, a weaving technique where kraft paper is wrapped around a metal wire. They managed to breathe new life into this traditional technique and develop an attractive, modern Lloyd Loom furniture collection. Their success was immense!

Vincent Sheppard's headquarters are located in Belgium, while the main production site is in Cirebon, in the heart of Indonesia, a country known for its rich tradition of rattan weaving and bending techniques. It’s in this Cirebon factory that Lloyd Loom and rattan furniture is handcrafted to perfection.

Besides the famous Lloyd Loom weaving, Vincent Sheppard also uses other materials, such as rattan, oak, beech and teak, as well as steel and aluminium, which correspond to its artisanal DNA, with its quality and distinctive design.

Manufactured in Indonesia, Vincent Sheppard furniture is initially designed in Belgium, and it’s here that it’s finished by painters and seamstresses who finalise the details with great care and attention. Designer, artisan weaver, painter or seamstress:  each piece of furniture is the result of real teamwork, with a synergy that crosses borders.

Environmental and social responsibility is a daily commitment at Vincent Sheppard. In 2013, the Belgian company received the FSC® label from the Forest Stewardship Council, rewarding its efforts to create ecological furniture, respectful of nature and people. Vincent Sheppard favours natural resources as much as possible for the production of its furniture. Recycling, wastewater cleaning and the use of environmentally friendly cleaning products are the norm. Its head office in Belgium is almost self-sufficient, because it uses solar energy.
