Werner Aisslinger

The work of designer Werner Aisslinger, born in 1964, explores all aspects of experimental art, without neglecting industrial design and architecture. Aisslinger likes to use the latest technologies: he has introduced the world of product design to new materials and techniques, such as the exclusive gel furnishings featured in the "soft cell" collection and the "soft" chair designed for Zanotta in 2000. The "Juli" Chair (Cappellini) was the first piece of furniture made with a new type of foam called "integral polyurethane foam".integral polyurethane foam", and has been the only German design chair selected for the permanent exhibition at New York's MoMA since 1964. He has created highly successful works and received awards all over the world: from the "Compasso d'Oro" in Milan to the Design Prize in Germany, from the Red Dot Award to the FX Award in England. Werner Aisslinger's "Loftcube", a project for a modular, transportable house, is one of the most talked-about works of recent years. His work is on display in the permanent collections of world-class museums such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Fond National d'Art Contemporain in Paris, the Neue Sammlung Museum in Munich and the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Germany.
