The Fritz Hansen brand was founded as a carpentry workshop in 1872 in Copenhagen. The company has long since evolved from a workshop to an industrial company, but each individual product is still made here with the same level of care. Fritz Hansen became known as one of the pioneers of Scandinavian modernity. Collaborations with famous designers and architects have resulted in numerous classics of modern designs – from the Shell chair by Hans J. Wegner to the Ant chair by Arne Jacobsen. The Fritz Hansen lighting has always enchanted with its well-thought-out design, versatile use and high-quality workmanship.
The Danish label set itself the challenge to bring the spirit of the Bauhaus movement into the modern day. That’s why you’ll find Fritz Hansen lights which are original designs by Bauhaus artists, including the lamps from the KAISER idell series, which was designed in 1931 by silversmith Christian Dell. These icons of the Bauhaus movement have been re-issued and are now available again to any fans of good design. The table lamp is particularly popular and impresses with its many features:
The minimalist lamp enhances any desk and gives the room a charming library feel. The KAISER idell pendant lamp is the perfect companion for the table lamp and looks fantastic above a conference table or above a dining table.
Alongside the classics from the Bauhaus movement, Fritz Hansen also has a range of lights from other legendary designers, including the PM-02 lamp by the American designer Paul McCobb. Be it table lamps or pendant lights – Fritz Hansen designer lighting is characterised by its minimised design and high quality. The design of these lights won’t just impress now but also in decades to come. Simple yet striking – the lighting from the Danish label invites you to take a look, whether it’s in the dining room, living room or office.
