Elena Cutolo

Italian designer and architect Elena Cutolo was born in Naples in 1966. Trained as an architect in Italy and Spain, she studied in Naples and Barcelona before graduating in 1992. From the outset, her career was shaped by a combination of architectural rigor and a marked artistic sensibility.

In 1993, she moved to Paris, where she joined Reichen & Roberts, working on large-scale architectural projects. This first international experience nurtured her approach to global projects, combining space, materials and visual narrative.

In 1998, Elena Cutolo moved to Milan and began a decisive collaboration with Sottsass & Associates. She worked on architectural projects before joiningEttore Sottsass 's own studio from 2002 to 2007. During this close collaboration, she was responsible for interior architecture projects, exhibition scenography, as well as object and furniture design. This period had a profound influence on her creative language, which is nourished by the heritage of radical Italian design, color and the symbolic dimension of form.

In 2008, she founded her own studio in Milan, affirming a cross-disciplinary practice that blends architecture, object design and art direction. She collaborates with a number of well-known houses, including Venini for limited editions, Glas Italia and Morellato.

Elena Cutolo's work is characterized by a sensitive, narrative approach to design, where objects become bearers of memory, culture and identity. Her creations question the relationship between form, use and emotion, in a style that is at once poetic, expressive and rigorously constructed.
