Angelo Stone is the culmination of Philippe Starck and Kartell's work on light. It's not just a new Lamp, but a new aesthetic of light.
With Angelo Stone, Starck deconstructs the traditional Lamp with its light source located in the Lampshade. In the Angelo Stone lamp, the LED source is not located in the lampshade: it is housed at the top of the base. Light directed upwards is reflected by the Lampshade even more evenly. The upper part of the Lamp therefore does not contain the light, but receives it, suspended. It reflects the light and redistributes it throughout the environment. The mysterious light illuminates the Lampshade in an almost supernatural way.
Philippe Starck rethinks lighting fixtures, integrating his vision and ability to break down objects so that light returns to its essential function and purest aesthetic. As usual, his work takes traditional forms (such as the Pleated cotton Lampshade), which are reworked using Kartell's most innovative manufacturing techniques.
Angelo Stone is the lamp of the future, where technology and innovation transform aesthetics and turn the Bulb/Lampshade binomial on its head.
