Conceived by Icelandic designer Gudmundur Ludvik, the Backflip folding chair reimagines a familiar form through a design that is as ingenious as it is minimalist. Crafted from solid beech wood with a seat and backrest made of molded plywood, it allows the materials and construction to naturally guide its silhouette. Its folding mechanism, completely concealed within the backrest, automatically locks the chair in both the open and folded positions. Thanks to the swiveling backrest, the chair folds and unfolds with one hand in a fluid, intuitive motion. When folded, it is only 10 cm thick and can be easily stored behind a door, in a closet, or hung on a wall fixation (sold separately).
