Binata Chair: The Simplicity of Wood Reimagined
With Binata, the Brogliato Traverso studio has created a wooden chair that is at once simple, precise, and expressive. Its slightly rounded seat softens the rigor of the structure, while its four slender bases lend the chair a true sense of visual lightness. The design remains deliberately clean, free of superfluous details, to highlight the material and the balance of its proportions.
A clean, architectural silhouette
The rectangular backrest is supported by two vertical posts that naturally extend from the rear bases. This construction creates a clean, almost architectural silhouette, while retaining a certain softness thanks to the rounded corners of the seat. The result is a contemporary chair that plays on the simplicity of its forms and the precision of its design.
The frame is made of solid ashwood, while the seat and backrest are crafted from ash veneered plywood. The open-pore black finish allows the wood’s natural grain to show through, adding depth and preventing the chair from looking too uniform.
Is the Binata chair suitable for a dining table?
Yes. With a seat height of 45 cm, Binata’s proportions are well-suited for use around a standard dining table. Its 48 x 48 cm dimensions allow it to maintain a relatively compact footprint, while offering a visual presence strong enough to define the space.
Is the Binata suitable for a contemporary interior?
Yes. Its clean lines, black finish, and the visible grain of the ash wood allow it to blend easily into a contemporary, minimalist, or more architectural interior. The combination of simple lines and natural materials prevents the design from feeling too cold and adds a certain visual warmth.
Can Binata be used in a professional setting?
Yes. Its understated and discreet silhouette also allows it to fit seamlessly into an office, meeting room, restaurant, or reception area. Its design language remains neutral enough to integrate into various interior design projects, while retaining a distinct design identity.
Binata emphasizes a timeless aesthetic rather than a showy one. Its ash wood structure, balanced proportions, and clean lines make it a versatile chair, designed to complement both everyday meals and more demanding interior design projects.
