Bird, the bar stool that turns color into a design element
The Bird bar stool transforms color into a true structural element. Designed by Nicholai Wiig-Hansen for the Bird Bar in Copenhagen before joining the raawii collections, it embodies a contemporary vision of Danish design where every detail finds its rightful place. In this version, which combines a grey ash seat with orange powder-coated legs, Bird asserts a fresh, graphic personality without ever sacrificing the simplicity of its lines.
A graphic composition where every color finds its place
The Bird bar stool captivates with a deliberately minimalist silhouette that allows the materials and colors to shine through. The combination of solid grey-lacquered ash and orange powder-coated legs creates a subtle contrast, conceived as a true graphic design rather than a simple play on colors. True to the raawii aesthetic, this contemporary color palette infuses the furniture with a joyful energy while maintaining the balance and restraint characteristic of Scandinavian design. The simplicity of the structure highlights this chromatic harmony with great elegance.
Designed to complement living spaces
Originally developed for a venue open to the public every day, this wooden bar stool meets the demands of daily use. Its solid ashwood seat offers a natural feel, while its 65 cm height is perfectly suited for a kitchen island, a counter, or a high table. Visually light yet robust in design, it’s equally suited for meals, socializing with friends, or working in an open kitchen. Its sleek design ensures it remains a timeless addition that never grows tiresome.
A splash of color that brings contemporary interiors to life
The Bird designer bar stool fits naturally into a contemporary kitchen, a minimalist interior, or a space inspired by Nordic design. Its orange legs add a warm accent that harmonizes beautifully with light wood, concrete, stone, or white surfaces. This expressive finish contrasts with the more timeless natural oak and stainless steel version, offering a different interpretation of the Bird design. Each combination of materials asserts a unique personality and transforms a functional seat into a true decorative accent.
Choosing the Bird bar stool means embracing a creation that originated as a genuine interior design project before becoming an iconic piece for raawii. Its minimalist design, its balance between simplicity and whimsy, and its carefully curated color palette infuse every interior with a contemporary elegance that naturally transcends trends.
