Playful and ultra-graphic, the Bold Stool won't go unnoticed! It's made up of two identical tubular sections nested one inside the other. Inflated with thick polyurethane foam, the line traced by the Bold acts successively as a base, then a seat. In a single stroke, like Osvaldo Cavandoli's Linen, and thickened like a Typeface to which grease has been applied. A style that's both whimsical and uncluttered. Everything superfluous is eliminated, leaving only the essentials.
Bold is part of the ''Plus is more'' collection by the Belgian-Swiss collective Big Game. A collection that humorously hijacks the minimalist motto "less is more", so dear to architect Mies Van der Rohe. The aim of this collection is to adapt basic elements to give them a "plus", while preserving the integrity of the original element.
For the Bold Stool, the Big Game studio draws inspiration from the tradition of the tubular steel chair. The tubular metal structure normally used for a chair's legs is thickened with foam padding. Thus transformed, the "inflated" steel tube manages to save a seat! The Stool is covered with a removable, washable Textile cover.
