A designer-explorer, Pierre Charrié gives a contemporary interpretation to artisanal materials and manufacturing processes. He collaborates with weavers and drum makers, and takes an interest in Washi paper and Kumihimo silk to create today's artifacts.
The Brush pendant collection was born out of a workshop in Vietnam with the Hanoia company, where Pierre Charrié explored lacquerware. An art craft that forces us to work with color as an essential element of the object, in relation to volume. A level of sophistication that allows color to take shape in three dimensions from the top to the bottom of the Lamp.
The lacquered colors obtained through a unique process are incredibly incandescent and vibrant. A multi-stage firing process is required to achieve the metallic depth of Brush colors. The paint used for the Iridescent version is based on crushed mother-of-pearl, giving it iridescence and a different perception of color depending on the light. The workmanship of the high-end paint gives a unique intensity to the colors.
The dome shape of the Lampshade is the result of handcrafted aluminum embossing techniques, allowing absolute mastery of the oblong curve, between geometry and organic reference. Inside the dome is a large, round aluminum disc. Light is diffused subtly through the inner pellet. Indirect and soft at the same time, the light is reflected in the dome for diffused illumination.
The Pendant Brush is available in two formats: a large, bold size and a more compact, discreet version, easily adaptable to any interior.
