Hay Chisel 35 Low Bar Chair: The Elegance of Wood at Counter Height

Designed by Norwegian designer Andreas Bergsaker, the Chisel 35 Low bar chair reimagines wooden furniture with a contemporary aesthetic and remarkable attention to proportion. Its ergonomic backrest provides comfortable support, while its sculptural silhouette embodies the identity of the Chisel collection. An ideal piece to complement a kitchen island, a kitchen counter, or an elegant dining area.

A precisely sculpted silhouette

Inspired by the traditional wood chisel from which it takes its name, the Chisel 35 Low wooden bar chair captivates with its beveled bases and balanced lines, which give it a bold, graphic presence. Its generously curved backrest naturally extends the seat and creates a sense of lightness despite the chair’s sturdy structure. Crafted from molded plywood with wood veneer and finished with solid wood ends, it showcases HAY’s expertise. The Chisel 35 Low bar chair is available in a wide range of wood species and finishes, with an all-wood version or a padded front panel available in a vast selection of fabrics and leathers. This high degree of customization allows it to complement any interior style.

Comfort Designed for Everyday Use

With a seat height of 65 cm, the Chisel 35 Low bar chair is perfectly suited for use around a kitchen island, counter, or kitchen bar. It also fits seamlessly into a café, restaurant, or coworking space where comfort is essential. Unlike a simple stool, its contoured backrest provides excellent back support, while the built-in footrest promotes a comfortable posture, even during extended use. Manufactured in Europe, certified for commercial use, and backed by a 10-year warranty, it meets the needs of both home users and professionals alike.

An elegant addition to any space

Thanks to the variety of materials and finishes available, the Hay Chisel 35 Low bar chair blends naturally into minimalist, contemporary, or Scandinavian-inspired interiors. In natural wood, it adds warmth to an open kitchen, while a version upholstered in fabric or leather brings a more sophisticated touch to a bar, hotel, or reception area. Paired with tables, chairs, and stools from the Chisel collection, it creates a harmonious ensemble where every detail highlights the beauty of the wood.

Designed to transcend trends with elegance, the Chisel 35 Low bar chair combines craftsmanship, comfort, and customization. A timeless piece that enhances living spaces and invites you to share moments of togetherness in a refined setting.
