Dedali Small Vase ceramic brown / Ø 8 x H 11 cm

Dedali Vase: A Ceramic Labyrinth for a Different Way to Arrange Flowers

In this more compact version, Ferm Living’s Dedali vase retains all the graphic impact of the collection. Made of 3D-printed enamelled sandstone, it features a series of folds, curves, and recesses that evoke the winding paths of a labyrinth. Its mottled brown hue accentuates the depth of this relief and highlights the material’s mineral-like quality. Available in three sizes—Ø 8 x H 11 cm, Ø 15 x H 18 cm, and Ø 17 x H 25 cm—Dedali allows you to choose a more subtle or bold presence depending on the space and the desired floral arrangement.

When sandstone seems to bend

Dedali plays with a particularly striking visual contradiction. Sandstone, a dense and rigid material, appears to unfurl like a supple fabric. The 3D printing process gives rise to these sinuous walls that fold, coil, and converge without ever forming a perfectly regular outline. The top then becomes a design in its own right—almost topographical—that reveals itself differently depending on the viewing angle. The Vase is a registered design, and its production may result in slight marks or variations in the clay due to the natural raw material and the manufacturing process.

Which size of Dedali vase should you choose?

The choice depends above all on the desired effect and the available space. The small model (Ø 8 x H 11 cm) is suitable for a table, a shelf, or a small piece of furniture and can hold a very light arrangement. The Ø 15 x H 18 cm size makes a bolder statement while still fitting easily on a Dresser or Console table. The largest size, Ø 17 x H 25 cm, allows you to work with taller stems and create a more expressive floral arrangement. All three sizes share the same sculptural design and can also be combined to create an arrangement with varying heights.

Why does the top of the vase have several openings?

These openings are not merely decorative. The labyrinthine top allows you to distribute the stems across different areas and hold them in various positions. This structure makes it easier to create fuller, asymmetrical floral arrangements inspired byIkebana, where the spaces between the flowers are just as important as the plants themselves.

Can Dedali be used as a decorative object without flowers?

Yes. Its intricate design and textured surface allow it to stand alone as a small Ceramic Sculpture. Without a bouquet, the eye focuses more on the meandering lines of its opening, the vertical folds of the material, and the speckled finish of the sandstone. It can thus find its place on a table, a console table, or a shelf as a decorative object in its own right.

How do you care for the Dedali vase?

Dedali can simply be rinsed with lukewarm water. The brand notes that marks and variations in the clay may appear due to the natural raw material and production technique. These differences are part of the manufacturing process and may vary slightly from one vase to another.

Compact yet particularly expressive, Dedali allows you to play with flowers as well as with the material itself. Whether used alone or paired with vases of different sizes, it adds a sculptural dimension to a table or piece of furniture that changes with each floral arrangement.
