Created by Belgian artist Marie Michielssen, Earth 04 straddles the border between art object and luminaire. Handcrafted from recycled papier mâché and topped with a natural linen lampshade, this floor lamp embodies a raw, sensitive aesthetic. Every irregularity, every imperfect curve reveals a gesture, an emotion, a presence. An inhabited creation, inviting us to slow down and contemplate.

Marie Michielssen doesn't design her pieces using sketches or software: she shapes the material directly, guided by intuition. Her creative process is akin to gestural meditation, in which primary forms - spheres, cones, cylinders - combine to create organic, totemic silhouettes. In this way, the floor lamp base becomes the witness to a plastic quest, somewhere between sculpture and design.
