Eolie design Pendant in recycled lava by Foscarini
With the Eolie collection, Alberto and Francesco Meda have created a series of pendant lamps for Foscarini in which materials become the true language of design. Inspired by the volcanic landscapes of the Aeolian Islands, the Alicudi, Filicudi and Panarea models combine technical innovation, raw aesthetics and a sustainable approach in luminaires with a strong sculptural presence.
Three volcanic shapes in living relief
Made from recycled Lava stone, each Designit Pendant reveals a textured surface marked by porosities, craters and Natural irregularities. Alicudi seduces with its supple, organic volume, Filicudi evokes an almost architectural, striated conical silhouette, while Panarea adopts a rounder, more mineral shape. This innovative material is obtained from residues left over from the processing of volcanic Stone, then mixed with Resin before being hand-cast in a mold. The result is reminiscent of a rock shaped by time, while retaining an astonishing visual lightness.
Lighting designed to structure space
Eolie Pendant lights provide precise, direct lighting, particularly suited to a central island, dining table or Counter. Their compact size means they can be installed on their own as lighting accents, or as part of a composition to create a real architectural rhythm. In an open kitchen or contemporary dining room, combining Alicudi, Filicudi and Panarea at different heights creates a sophisticated, airy Pendant effect, while retaining a hushed atmosphere.
Creative experimentation by Foscarini
With Eolie, Foscarini continues its exploration of unexpected materials applied to the world of lighting. Each model reveals variations in texture that are impossible to reproduce identically, a far cry from standardized industrial Pendant. Combined with Dark wood, Travertine or natural materials, Pendant immediately reinforces the warm, architectural dimension of a high-end interior.
Conceived as an encounter between raw Nature and experimental design, the Eolie collection transforms light into a sensitive material. An expressive, singular Pendant that appears to be sculpted directly from volcanic rock.
