Serax Fish & Fish 40 Years Carafe: A Playful Icon for the Table
With its fish-shaped silhouette and richly textured transparent green glass, the Fish & Fish carafe has a personality all its own. Designed by Paola Navone for Serax, it transforms a functional object into a true decorative piece. Scales, an eye, and fins are embossed on the glass, giving the carafe its graphic and cheerful character. This version comes in special “Serax 40 Years” packaging to celebrate the Belgian brand’s 40th anniversary.
When pressed glass meets Paola Navone’s sense of humor
For the Fish & Fish collection, Paola Navone drew inspiration from 1930s American pressed glass, created during the Great Depression. Here, she reinterprets its conventions with her characteristic freedom. The herring becomes a three-dimensional, almost sculptural motif, whose details are revealed through the transparency of the Glass.
With its slender proportions of 10.6 × 7.5 × H 29 cm, the carafe makes a statement without taking up too much space on the table. Its transparent green hue captures the light and accentuates the texture of its surface. It’s a very Paola Navone way of creating a dialogue between popular inspiration, retro references, and contemporary design.
