The tube or the essence of light ... Since the patent was filed in 1967, Sammode’s tube lamp has become a classic of French industrial and architectural lighting. 100% French manufacture for this simple-looking lamp - a transparent tube mounted in a sealed steel structure - which uses a sophisticated technique. Popular among professionals for its performance and robustness, the Sammode tube lamp quickly became cult object. Sammode lights are used in many prestigious buildings such as the National Library of France in Paris, the Ray and Maria Stata Center designed by Franck Gehry in Cambridge (United States) or the Mama Shelter Hotel in Paris, decorated by Philippe Starck. Sammode brings its industrial excellence to the general public by creating a specific range of lighting for the home. All Sammode Studio lights are manufactured, assembled and packaged at its Châtillon-sur-Saône plant in the Vosges. These quality lamps with their industrial design combine timeless lines and the latest technology. They provide appropriate, refined lighting, as well as a singular industrial aesthetic with a strong identity. Pioneers of contemporary architecture, Dominique Perrault and Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost were the first to reinterpret the Sammode tube lamp. To mark the construction of the National Library of France in the early 1990s, they designed the Kyhn and Gude lights, which have become classics. The Gude wall lamp wears a metal grille with simple, straight patterns. This wall lamp delivers a delicate, enveloping 360-degree light. It provides a soft, warm atmosphere. Inserted into a steel frame, the transparent polycarbonate tube reveals the internal metal mesh that surrounds the satin-finish LED bulb (supplied). The Gude wall light is waterproof (IP68): it can be used inside, outside and in wet rooms. This light adds charm and character to your terrace, living room, bathroom, bedroom, entrance ... This wall lamp is delivered ready for installation: it comes with its own cable and a wall outlet (direct connection to the wall). Also available in a dimmable version, with lighting controllable by bluetooth using a smartphone app: please ask us.
