The irregular, asymmetrical lines feature hollows and bulges, offering a changing appearance depending on the angle of view. Hoba is inspired by the meteorite it's named after, the largest ever to fall to Earth, discovered in Namibia in 1920.
Foscarini's Hoba table lamp is made from mouth-blown glass. It is made using a special glass-blowing process that allows slightly different shapes to be obtained on each piece. The asymmetrical lines are never quite the same from one piece to the next. So Hoba is a collection of constantly evolving pieces, always unique, mass-produced but with the unmistakable characteristics of the handmade.
The diffused light is warm and enveloping, perfect for illuminating spaces. It guarantees exceptional lighting quality, highlighting the details and nuances of interior spaces.
Its unique graphic design makes it a versatile decorative element, perfect for adding a contemporary touch to any interior space.
The Hoba Lamp is the expression of the designers' many years of research into Blown glass with Foscarini. A flagship of Italian industrial craftsmanship, Foscarini values the knowledge and skills of craftsmen who have preserved and renewed their specific knowledge of glassmaking. The Foscarini Glasswork is a magical place where master glassmakers move between kilns and squares as if in an uninterrupted ballet, driven by an inextinguishable desire to try something different.
Carlo Urbinati (Fosacrini founder and president): ''We have chosen to be a company without a factory, because experimentation is our essence. If a Lamp can already be manufactured, we're not interested. If its design is a challenge, we rise to it thanks to the skills of the people who work in our local workshops. With hands, brains and, above all, heart.
