The first Italian designer to win the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize, Aldo Rossi is considered one of the greatest Italian architects of the second half of the 20th century. He designed several iconic models for Alessi, including the "La Conica" and "La Cupola" coffee makers.
The La Cupola espresso coffee maker was designed in 1988 by Aldo Rossi, creator of some of the most iconic objects of the 1980s. It proves that great designers are always capable of adapting to contemporary public tastes.
The La cupola espresso coffee maker, almost a monument in miniature, symbolizes the exquisite dialectic relationship between architecture and the home that Aldo Rossi has pursued over the years. An espresso coffee maker that is at once a temple, a tower and a basilica, it celebrates the ritual of coffee and follows the dream of a domestic environment planned and built analogously to urban space. An icon of contemporary industrial design, now available in a version suitable for induction hobs and offered, as with the original edition, in two color variants: with black or blue handle and Cork.
The body is made of cast aluminium: an excellent heat-conducting material that gives the espresso an incomparable, full, rounded taste.
