Ever since Richard Sapper’s legendary 9090, Alessi has invited leading designers to reinvent the Espresso coffee maker. For Menhir, Michael Anastassiades drew inspiration from prehistoric standing stones and distilled the lines of the traditional Espresso coffee maker down to their purest form. The geometric facets, the slanted cut of the body, and the thermoplastic resin handle create a subtle balance between minimalism and monumentality. The polished stainless steel 18/10 reflects light and gives the object an almost sculptural presence.
