Since it was patented in 1967, Sammode's Lamp-tube has become a classic of French industrial and architectural lighting. Acclaimed by industrialists, architects and local authorities for its performance and robustness, the Sammode tube lamp has quickly become a cult item. Sammode luminaires are used in many prestigious buildings, including the French National Library in Paris, the Ray and Maria Stata Center designed by Franck Gehry in Cambridge (USA) and the Mama Shelter hotel in Paris, decorated by Philippe Starck.
The "Normal Studio" design duo have taken Sammode's tube lamp to new heights, dressing it in metal lace for gentle light filtration. A tribute to the City of Light, the Paname collection is built around a Grill motif. The Monceau lamp is clad in a herringbone patterned grille, reminiscent of the herringbone pattern on the old parquet floors that make up the charm of Paris's beautiful neighborhoods. Monceau is much more than a light fixture, it's a real jewel.
