New Modern is a collection of tables and desks 100% made in Europe, well thought-out and made to last. Like every project by French object brand TIPTOE, New Modern is part of an eco-conception and sustainable design approach, ensuring that impacts are controlled throughout the product life cycle.
New Modern tables are made up of a small number of components, all of which are useful, sturdy, easily separable and repairable if necessary. The tables consist of two thermolacquered steel Base, legs into which two cylindrical stainless steel support beams are inserted. The Tray is simply screwed onto the legs. The tables are delivered flat-packed to limit environmental impact during storage and shipping (assembly is ultra-easy). Packaging is made from a minimum of 80% Recycle paper.
The Legs are made of steel, a material that is both extremely resistant and infinitely recyclable (it is the most recycled material in the world).
The Tray is available in a range of materials: Eco-certified wood, recycled plastic or laminate. Oak plywood trays are made from wood from sustainably managed European forests. The Tray has a core of solid Fir-tree veneered with a natural oak species and protected by a water-based varnish.
Recycled plastic trays are made from waste: hundreds of yoghurt pots are needed to make one tray. The collected plastic waste is chipped and then pressed (without the addition of binders) to form the Tray. The white Tray is sprinkled with splashes of color, echoing the fragile corals of the Ocean Blue. The speckled pattern also evokes terrazzo, the star material of interior design. Each Recycled plastic Tray is unique, and the color and pattern can vary, which is what makes it so appealing.
The different shapes and sizes of the trays can be adapted to a wide range of contexts: a dining table in a living room or kitchen, an XXL table seating up to 12 people, a single desk in a private environment or a large open space desk for several people.
TIPTOE has opted for 100% European production, alongside partners with excellent know-how. NEW MODERN wooden Trays are made in Poland, Steel Legs in Bulgaria, while all precision mechanical parts and assembly components come from our family workshops in France near Chamonix. Final assembly is carried out in France in an ESAT, a medical-social establishment which works for the social and professional integration of disabled people.
