With its interlocking curves,the Oyster Wall light by Ferm Living transforms the wall into a true stand for light. Its silhouette is directly inspired by an oyster shell, with overlapping organic shapes that partially conceal the light source and diffuse a soft glow. Crafted from 100% recycled moulded aluminium and painted, it makes a sculptural statement while maintaining compact dimensions of W 22.9 x H 28.5 x D 17.2 cm. Available in beige or black, it fits just as well in an interior as it does on a building facade or a terrace.

A shell that shapes the light

The design of the Oyster Sconce is based on a simple yet highly expressive idea: layering several curved surfaces to create both the fixture’s volume and its lighting effect. The bulb is positioned at the heart of this structure, partially concealed by the front shell. The light is then reflected off the various surfaces before being projected around the wall light.

This interplay of planes gives the fixture a dual identity. When turned off, it functions as a graphic wall-mounted object. When turned on, it reveals the Aluminium’s contours and creates halos that extend its outline onto the wall.

Can the Oyster Wall light be installed outdoors?

Yes.The Oyster Sconce is IP65-rated and suitable for outdoor installation, provided it is connected directly to the electrical circuit as a fixed installation. Its protection rating makes it suitable for spaces exposed to outdoor conditions when installed in accordance with Ferm Living’s recommendations.

It can be installed on a facade, a covered patio, or near an entrance to provide decorative lighting while extending the home’s aesthetic to the outdoors.

Can the Oyster wall light be used with an indoor outlet?

Yes. For indoor use, the Oyster comes with a 2.6-meter black Textile cable equipped with a plug and an on/off switch. This allows for installation without the need for a dedicated wall outlet, provided there is a nearby outlet.

However, the cable with plug is intended for indoor use only. For outdoor use, Ferm Living requires a hardwired connection to the electrical system.

Which bulb should I use for the Oyster Wall light?

The Oyster Sconce uses an E27 LED bulb with a maximum wattage of 12 W; the bulb is not included. Your choice of bulb therefore allows you to adjust the brightness and color temperature to achieve the desired effect. A warm-toned light source will enhance its enveloping character, while the design of the shell will limit direct visibility of the Bulb depending on the viewing angle.

Which finish should you choose: Beige or Black?

Both finishes retain the same silhouette but give the Oyster a very different presence. The beige version highlights the softness of its lines and blends easily into natural or mineral color palettes. The black version, on the other hand, accentuates its graphic character and the depth of the shadows created by its layered surfaces.
