Paper Shade Prism Lampshade: A Sculptural, Luminous Presence
At 110 cm tall, the Paper Shade Prism lampshade by Hay makes the most of its volume. Its slender silhouette widens at the center before tapering at the ends, creating an almost architectural shape. Crafted from translucent white paper over a ribbed Bamboo frame, it gently filters light while making a strong decorative statement.
A Geometry That Catches the Eye
The Paper Shade Prism stands out for its angular profile and the regular rhythm of its horizontal lines. This visible frame adds depth to the paper and accentuates the sense of volume without weighing down the overall design. Inspired by the world of paper lanterns, the Paper Shade collection explores graphic and poetic forms in a style that is both minimalist and contemporary.
Where to install a large paper lampshade?
The Paper Shade Prism is particularly well-suited to spaces that can accommodate a large, vertical light fixture. In a living room, it can create a focal point near a sofa or in a corner of the room. Suspended in a dining room or open space, it naturally draws the eye and helps define the space without feeling heavy, thanks to its lightweight construction of paper and bamboo.
What kind of light does the Paper Shade Prism emit?
The Paper Shade Prism emits a soft, subdued light. The translucent paper softens the bulb’s glare and produces a warm glow, making it particularly well-suited for cozy atmospheres. It thus serves more as a source of ambient lighting than as powerful direct lighting.
Is the electrical system included?
No, the Paper Shade Prism is sold as a Lampshade only. It is shipped flat, without an electrical system or a bulb. The electrical system is sold separately. HAY recommends pairing it with the Common Cord Set to complete the installation.
With its generous proportions and highly graphic design, the Paper Shade Prism transcends the simple function of a Lampshade. Once lit, its paper shell transforms into a luminous form, capable of bringing a soft atmosphere to the room while adding a sculptural touch to the Decoration.
