Serax Large Perch Tray: A Large, Whimsical Design

With the Perch Large tray, Kelly Wearstler has designed a glass piece for Serax that is both functional and highly decorative. Its large 35-cm diameter offers a generous surface area, while a small glass bird perches on the rim as if on a perch. Available in amber with an amber bird or transparent amber with an amber bird, it adds an unexpected sculptural touch to both a dining table and a Console table.

An everyday scene transformed into a collection

The Perch collection is inspired by a small bird Kelly Wearstler spotted perched on a door handle. The designer translates this image into a series of glass accessories where the bird perches on vases, bowls, trays, and carafes. This figurative detail creates a subtle contrast with the collection’s clean lines and directly explains its name, Perch.

This interplay between sophistication and whimsy fits perfectly into Kelly Wearstler’s aesthetic, known for her bold combinations and her penchant for contrasts between the contemporary and the antique, the raw and the refined.

How to use a 35-cm tray?

With a diameter of 35 cm, the Perch Large tray offers enough space to present several dishes, arrange fruit, or create a centrepiece. Outside of mealtimes, it can also hold decorative objects on a coffee table, console table, or sideboard. Its more generous size gives it a real presence in the room.

Is the Perch tray suitable for serving food?

Yes. The Perch tray is food-safe, making it suitable for use as a serving tray or Presentation plate. Its large diameter is particularly well-suited for fruit, pastries, small bites, or dishes meant to be shared.

How do you care for the Perch tray?

The tray is dishwasher- and microwave-safe, making it easy to use every day. Made entirely of glass, it combines decorative appeal with easy maintenance.

Which finish should you choose?

The amber version envelops the entire piece in a warm, deep hue—bird included. The Transparent amber version with an amber bird creates greater contrast and immediately draws the eye to the little bird perched on the rim.

With its large size and whimsical figurative detail, the Perch Large tray can serve as both a serving piece and a true Centrepiece. It’s a very Kelly Wearstler way to add a touch of whimsy to everyday moments.
