Serax Perch Vase: A Slender Silhouette Brought to Life by a Bird
With the Perch Large Vase, Kelly Wearstler has designed a glass piece for Serax that is as decorative as it is poetic. Its tall, gently curved silhouette is brought to life by an unexpected detail: a small glass bird perches on the rim of the vase, as if it had chosen the vase as its roost. Available in amber or Clear Glass with an amber bird, this large model measures Ø 12.5 × H 32 cm.
A moment of everyday life transformed into an object
The idea for the Perch collection is said to have been inspired after Kelly Wearstler noticed a small bird perched on a doorknob. The designer transposes this scene into a series of glass accessories where the bird perches on vases, bowls, trays, or carafes. The name “Perch” thus takes on its full meaning.
This interplay between a simple form and a figurative presence perfectly reflects Kelly Wearstler’s approach. The American designer enjoys juxtaposing styles and embraces a creative process rooted in contrasts—between the contemporary and the vintage, the raw and the refined.
