Pipistrello LED Table lamp plastic material / H 66 to 86 cm - Gae Aulenti, 1965

Why choose the Pipistrello LED Lamp - Bronze finish?

• A design icon by Gae Aulenti, made in Italy since 1965
• A revolutionary telescopic Base, leg for height adjustment (66 to 86 cm)
• Soft, even light diffused by an Opaline methacrylate Lampshade
• A collector's design, exhibited in the world's greatest museums

A legend born in 1965

Designed in 1965 by Gae Aulenti, the Pipistrello represents a turning point in the history of Italian design. With its undulating Lampshade inspired by a bat - pipistrello in Italian - and its original telescopic Base, it broke with the modernist rigor of the time. In entrusting Martinelli Luce with the design, Aulenti initiated a collaboration as ambitious as it was visionary. It took two years of fine-tuning to bring this revolutionary Lamp to life, which was presented at MoMA in 1972.

Sculptural design with precious finishes

The bronze version highlights the contrast between thematt lacquered aluminum of the Base and the chromed steel of the central shaft. The opaline Methacrylate Lampshade diffuses a warm, even light. The barolo reflections of this exclusive finish bring depth and nobility to the whole, underlining the timeless character of the Pipistrello.

A functional, long-lasting Lamp

The telescopic base can be adjusted in height from 66 to 86 cm, to suit every need: reading lamp, accent light or centerpiece on a console. Equipped with a Dimmer and an integrated, replaceable LED, it combines technical sophistication with longevity.

A living design heritage

Awarded the Praemium Imperiale in 1991, Gae Aulenti 's Pipistrello is a twentieth-century masterpiece. Present in the collections of MoMA, the Centre Pompidou and the Victoria and Albert Museum, this Lamp is more than a lighting fixture: it's a collector's item that spans the ages, illuminating every interior with a unique radiance.
